OOPS! Your Pet Had An "Accident"

There are many odor and stain fighting products available and most of them work well. But sometimes these mishaps  are on something other than the carpet-- like a blanket, furniture or stuffed toy. If you'd like to try  something non-toxic, inexpensive, and readily on hand I recommend  one of these  cleanup methods:

1. soak up as much urine as possible with paper towels -- you can put a piece of plastic wrap over them and a heavy book on top of that to add weight and increase absorption

2. Mix 2 cups of warm water with 1 cup of white vinegar and 1 cup of baking soda. Apply to the soiled area and allow to soak for two hours

3. wash as you normally would in machine or by hand

The vinegar's acidity nuetralizes the ammonia and the baking soda acts as a deodorizer.

OR if a stain is not "fresh', try this:

1.Combine:
8 ounces hydrogen peroxide 3% ( found in a brown bottle in the first aid aisle of most  stores)
3 tablespoons of baking soda
1 drop of liquid hand dish washing soap(any brand)

2. apply with spray bottle.

3. if a film remains after the area is completely  dry, wipe or vacuum it off.

Do not make ahead of time or try to save the solution, the reaction that occurs when these ingredients are mixed is what cleans the stain and it only lasts a short time.

Chew-Proof Electrical Cords....

Babies do it...Cats do it...Bunnies do it...Ferrets do it...and Dogs do it too ! I'm talking about chewing on cords--- an expensive and potentially electrifying habit. There are several types of products to  help with this gnawing issue available..
My suggestions are to invest in  cord protectors, training aides (non-toxic sprays that taste bad and/or a spray bottle of plain water), and offering a lot of acceptable alternatives like toys, bones, and your ex-boyfriends shoes...
Split loom tubing shown to the right (also called split wire loom) is available in many colors for about $13 / 100 feet at amazon.com or home improvement stores. Good Luck ! :)

Love this Picture!

This a great picture of Gr Ch.Halee Kiki Ari Captain Morgan ! (owned by Tammy Bagley of MN)

Tibet,  known as "the roof of the world" and surrounded with mystique and nearly impenetrable mountain ranges is the original home of Lhasa Apsos  ; where they acted as personal companions and sentinels of the monks. The Lhasa Apso's temperament is a unique blend of joyful, mischievous, loyal, dignified and sometimes aloof-- particulary with strangers.  Because of their expressive facial features, owners often remark on their "human-like" qualities and sensitivity to human feelings, claiming their dogs "can almost talk".

American Kennel Club
May 1, in the 7:30–8 a.m. EDT half-hour timeframe, NBC's Today Show will be airing a segment by NBC reporter Jeff Rossen — @Jeffrossen#RossenReports — which we expect will be a biased, critical, and misleading portrayal of the AKC.

Please watch the segment live or on the Today Show website and then go toRossen Reports and Today.com and NBCNews.com to post your comments in support of AKC and all the responsible dog owners and breeders in this country.

We will be watching the segment too, since we are curious to see if picking on animal lovers really helps their ratings! Also, watch for AKC's immediate response to the segment on akcdoglovers.com.
